Charts of reaction wheel power consumption as a function of speed and torque are now available in the Reaction Wheel page. The very low power of these wheels is a critical advantage in many applications, and is achieved thanks to a custom motor design optimized for minimum magnetic drag torque.
On April 29, 2009 we celebrated the one-year anniversary of the launch of CanX-2. Onboard is a RW-0.03-4 reaction wheel configured to provide pitch bias-momentum stabilization. The wheel continues to perform flawlessly.
